If you think that's being stupid, how about me biking in the rain not once, but several times in the past few weeks! BTW I just switched to using Vista as my main system (I have now my old desktop back), and it's pretty fast, being 2 yrs old. It's glitchy-er than Leopard, annoying problems (with Panel, UnivRSS, .NET stuff, Dreamscene, Windows Mail, etc) but overall pretty solid system, I"m trying to set up EFS + bitlocker on it, you have any idea?

Was that really a score of 21-million I saw on my Super Stardust HD buddy list? I was happy to hit 1.5-million today after collecting enough Rock Busters so that it fires 3 at time very quickly. I'll occasionally get up to 4x multipliers, but then won't live long enough to make a difference.

Congrats on the uber-high score! ...hopefully I'll be able to catch up soon. Are there any threads on GAP for a "what's your highest score in SS:HD?" :)

<i>Looks like I need to start checking Kotaku more! :) ...great find on the release dates!</i>

I'm still tearing through "The Darkness", having emerged from Hell, found the key to the Old City Hall service entrance, and now I'm running missions for Vinny. I didn't know about the phone numbers of posters, but I've been dialing every collectible I've found.

I'll have to pay more attention to the posters, I've only been looking at the pictures and titles. Some of the graffiti is awesome, I laugh every time as I pass the "Party Devil" Watching TVs can be addictive too, I really enjoy the full episode they have of Flash Gordon with Buster Crabbe as Flash and Jean Rogers as Dale. I feel guilty just watching TV instead of going on with my current "mission."

I see you and Enforcer_X have the top Super Stardust HD scores for the time being. Me, Dillmister, MyLegsHurt, and Paroxysm are all catching up.

I have family over this week, so I won't be able to play as much as I'd like without ignoring our guests. I'll try to catch up and play more this weekend. Great games, great news for us PS3ers. (Warhawk, Heavenly Sword, and Lair are all tops on my list)

Man, I need to get on the ball. I'm still at the first encounter with the swat team and the helicopter after talking to Butcher.
Yeah, I know what you mean about the story though. So far, great atmosphere that makes me want to read the books too. Gonna have to look up that compendium myself.
Thanks for stopping by.

<i>Got further since my last comment... :)</i> I've found met Anthony Estacado, who brought The Darkness into the world. I've met the crucified man, who told me how to harness The Darkness and gave me the Darkness Guns.

Since I'm so thoroughly hooked, now I wanted to read Top Cow's <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Darkness_(comics)" rel="nofollow">The Darkness</a> comics. Amazon and Borders has <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Darkness-Compendium-Garth-Ennis/dp/158240643X/ref=pd_bbs_sr_3/002-1123820-2824860?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1183206932&sr=8-3" rel="nofollow">The Darkness Compendium</a> with all 1248 pages of the comic bound in one glossy book. I didn't pick it up when I saw it at the local Borders (before "The Darkness" was available for PS3). Now that I'm hooked, Borders is sold out. I ended up ordering The Darkness Compendium Edition from the online store ($37.79).

I hope to see more from Top Cow and Starbreeze. "The Darkness" is a great game with a fantastic story. :)

Awesome game, ain't it?? Resistance: Fall of Man and The Darkness are my two favorite games for the PS3. The graphics and gameplay in The Darkness sets the bar for how games should play. It does slow down in certain scenes or environments, but I suspect that can be improved upon.

Have you gotten the Berserker, the Gunner, and the Kamakazi yet? I just got the Kamakazi, but I'm stuck at that point. I use the creeping darkness to go down the tunnel and around the crashed plane, but I wonder what to do next.

Great game!!! :) "To Kill a Mockingbird" isn't the only full length movie in "The Darkness", "The Man with the Golden Arm" and an episode of "Flash Gorden" from the 50's series is also in the game.

Sure enough, I picked up "The Darkness" on the way home yesterday and played for hours last night in the single-player campaign. Unlike most PS3 games which play in 720p HD, "The Darkness" plays up to Full-HD (1080i/1080p). Since my HD DLP projector only supports up to 720p/1080i, I was playing in 1080i last night.

Posted screenshots and links to my site at:
<a href="http://innospyre.com/v3.0/archives/2007/06/currently_playi.html" rel="nofollow">Innospyre: Scenes from "The Darkness"</a>

...it definitely deserves the M rating for Mature Audiences. Graphics are incredibly well done, but it's violent, gory, and graphic in its depiction of murder and the human anatomy. I suspect I'm already halfway through it, it looks like a "short" (under 20 hours) game.

I hope this is the shape of things to come... I'm looking forward to "Haze" and "Unreal Tournament 3" for the PS3.

Oh wow! :) Between "The Darkness" and the SplitFish FragFX PS3 Controller, there's alot on the PS3 begging my attention this week.

Have you seen this?
<a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/06/27/splitfish-fragfx-ps3-controller-gets-reviewed/" rel="nofollow">SplitFish FragFX PS3 controller gets reviewed</a>

...I've been lusting after it since R:FoM. Now FPS will be alot more fun on the PS3.

That's a great article! To be honest, I never thought of what I'd do differently to make buying games a better experience.

I do compare stores like Apple (always crowded) and SonyStyle (rarely crowded). Although both stores are in the same location (Tysons Corner, VA), they have radically different approaches to products and consumers. Apple is clean, with a limited amount of products on display, but with professional staff and very helpful. SonyStyle looks overwhelming, with too much on display, not a very professional staff, and not nearly as helpful. I usually end up explaining things to SonyStyle employees rather than vice-versa.

Apple "gets it", but Sony doesn't. I think the same is true for Play N' Trade vs EBgames. EBgames reminds of the late 80s and early 90's Electronics Boutique and Egghead Software stores. Boxed software in bins, "nerd sweat", and underpaid kids hawking games. David Jaffe is right.

I'd love to see a clean store with utilitarian lines, displays, and gaming consoles. Have consumers be able to see and play games. Retrieve the games from boxes or CDs that are out-of-sight. If it's a new game, keep a box on the shelves. If it's an older game, direct the consumer to a kiosk, allow them to look it up (check reviews?), and see if its in-stock.

I hope to see the Play-N-Trade model succeed over EBgames. I truly hope that is the future of video game retail.
