Just the one game this week, Silent Hill: Homecoming (formerly Silent Hill 5). Journey back to the town of Silent Hill, with all the fog, monsters, and creepy looking children. While I really loved the feel of the Silent Hill movie, because it was so much like the games, I can’t really get around the controls in the games, though I understand that this version gives players a bit more control in combat than previous games because unlike before, the main character actually has military training.

Yeah, I’m one of those hands off fans.

Huh. So there is a story, though, much like the game there’s a lot of gaps left in this animated short showing what happened between Street Fighter II and IV. I’d like to see what this thing is like in its original language to complement the serious tone. (Dubs make me laughs) Still, they should include cutscenes like this in the console release of Street Fighter IV and maybe allow the franchise to break new ground in fighting game stories. Ah, I can dream…

This week, we’ve got hunting, shooting (hunting of people), racing, quiz show partying, and Lego Batman!

I’m really looking forward to Lego Batman, mostly because it’s Lego and Batman, of course. Seriously though, if you’ve ever seen or played any of the recent Lego series of games (Lego Star Wars, Lego Indiana Jones) from Telltale Games, then you’ll have a pretty good idea of what to expect from Lego Batman. It does seem a bit more action packed, but I expect it to still involve collecting a whole lot of little Lego bits to unlock other characters to play with. Still, Lego Batman should be worth playing through just to see the cute little Lego people pantomime the story as Batman and friends.

The other one I kind of want this week is Buzz! Quiz TV, a pretty straight forward Trivia Pursuit type game. The problem with a lot of games like that is that you run out of fresh questions after a while, and it pretty much comes down to who owns the game and how many answers they remember. With Buzz! Quiz TV though, you’ll be able to download more quizzes and questions from the internet. In addition, you’ll also be able to make your own quizzes to upload for others and, of course, play yourself. The package comes with four controllers, simplified as to give you that quiz show buzzer feeling too. Value in both quantity of content and quantity of plastic in this package.
