We knew it was coming, as Guitar Hero: On Tour for the Nintendo DS was announced months ago. What we didn’t know, until today, was how it would be coming. I was kinda hoping for the USB to DS adapter so that we could all look awkward awesome wearing our GH guitars around town to shred on the go.  Sadly for us, IGN has revealed that the portable iteration of the franchise will instead come with a Guitar Grip attachment our handhelds.  No picture here yet, (check it out here: http://ds.ign.com/articles/860/860511p1.html) but it basically looks like four fret buttons plugged into the GBA slot. So you hold the DS like a book, ala Brain Age and Ninja Gaiden DS, hit notes with your system-holding hand and strum with your stylus-holding hand on the touch screen. If that seems dangerous to you and your DS, be thankful that Red Octane is adding a handstrap to that package to keep your portable from falling off a three story building.

I hope Activision has some big pockets for all the money they’re about to make, because this game is going to be huge when it releases this summer.

Jackie Chan and Jet Li in a movie together? How come no one thought of this before?

The Forbidden Kingdom, trailer in previous post, features the aforementioned martial arts, movie stars and the guy who put together the fight scenes from the Matrix, so it looks like it’ll be a pretty cool action flick. Mixing Jackie Chan’s style of kung fu comedy with Jet Li’s serious skills should yield some interesting results.  I’m excited.  The story is something about a kid from our time looking for pirated DVDs, getting sucked into the mystical Chinese past, and having to learn kung fu to free the Monkey King and save the world. Hm.

As I said, it looks like it’ll be a pretty cool action flick.

The Forbidden Kingdom comes out April 18th. Video game adaption to be announced.
