Region-free gaming FTW! Gundam Musou PS3!!!
Gundam + Dynasty Warriors. How can it not be at least moderately entertaining? My biggest problem with the previous Gundam games was that they were too slow. I didn’t grow up on the grow up with the classic Gundam series (pre-Wing) which is probably why I could never accept the slow, lumbering mobile suits from the PS2 games.
But now, with the help of Koei, Omega-Force, and the region-free PS3 (hooray), I can get my “one vs. a million,” Mobile Suit Gundam action. Check back for my Gundam Musou previews, Japanese official site translations, screens, videos from Gametrailers.com, and come sometime around the game’s March 1st release, my Gundam Musou review.
“This Fighter’s Not Virtua Anymore, It’s Alive!”
Virtua Fighter 5
- Faster, Smoother, more fluid feeling.
- Great looking: 1080p. New animations make even fighters with similar styles feel different. Gives them character. Lau spin kicks with his hands behind his back, arrogant bastard.
- It’s Virtua Fighter: Balance and depth; it’s all back.
I had a chance to play this latest version of the original 3D fighter at GameWorks, one of the last arcades, and it is sweet. The fighting feels a lot smoother than previous versions; I think because of the new character animations. For example, Pai’s “P P P K” move looks a lot more natural now, with open handed jabs and a more fluid, follow-up, spin kick. Check out the gameplay footage at the bottom to see what I’m talking about.
